Small Cell Strainers

Small Cell Strainers

Pore Size: 40 µm  70 µm  100 µm
Color: Blue  White  Yellow

Product Information

The cell strainer is a sterile sieving device that quickly separates primary culture cells from cell clusters and tissues. It effectively removes cell aggregates or large particles from cell suspensions to ensure accurate subsequent experiments such as flow cytometry and cell sorting.

Jet Biofil’s small cell strainers feature a split design with separate upper and lower cups, with a mesh diameter of 16.9mm, a lower cup inner diameter of 19.2mm, and a funnel outer diameter of 8.5 mm. The upper cup of the small cell strainer is designed for filtration and collection, while the lower cup features a two-stage slot that enhances its compatibility. Additionally, the special venting spacers and air slots in the lower cup effectively prevent mesh clogging and liquid overflow.

Multiple specifications and tube shapes are available, for different laboratory requirements

Dual-position cap for ventilation and sealing, flexible operation with no sample loss

Small Cell Strainers Features

Features
Split Design: The innovative split design allows for the inverted collection of residual cells into the upper cup, effectively minimizing sample loss
Special venting spacers and air slots in the lower cup prevent mesh clogging and liquid overspill, ensuring smooth filtration
The easy-to-tear individual packaging facilitates sterile operation and prevents contamination
The frame handle supports aseptic operation, reducing the risk of contamination during handling
Features
Wide compatibility: suitable for most centrifuge tubes, flow cytometry tubes, and culture tubes on the market with an inner diameter greater than 9mm and an outer diameter less than 19mm
Strainers of different pore sizes can be stacked for one-step sequential filtration, enhancing efficiency
Evenly distributed nylon mesh bottom, providing consistent experimental results
Sterilized by irradiation to SAL 10-6; DNase/RNase-free, non-pyrogenic and non-cytotoxic

Frequently Asked Questions

What are small cell strainers used for?
Small cell strainers are used to separate primary cells from tissues and cell aggregates, ensuring a uniform cell suspension for downstream applications like flow cytometry, cell sorting, and other cell-based experiments.
What pore sizes and color options are available?
They are available in:

40 µm (Blue)
70 µm (White)
100 µm (Yellow)
What is the advantage of the split design?
The innovative split design includes separate upper and lower cups, allowing inverted collection of residual cells, which minimizes sample loss and improves efficiency during filtration.
How does the product prevent clogging and overflow?
The lower cup is equipped with special venting spacers and air slots, which help prevent mesh clogging and liquid overflow, ensuring smooth and consistent filtration.
Are the strainers compatible and safe for laboratory use?
Yes, they are:

Compatible with most tubes (inner diameter > 9 mm, outer diameter < 19 mm)
Stackable for sequential filtration
Sterilized by irradiation (SAL 10⁻⁶)
DNase/RNase-free, non-pyrogenic, and non-cytotoxic
